Adanna Duru (American Idol)

Adanna Duru is one eliminated American Idol contestant away from making it into Idol’s Season 14 Top 10.

She is also one of those rare singers who have tried out for and advanced in both Idol competition and “The Voice.” In September 2012, the then 15-year-old Duru was selected during the blind audition phase of The Voice by judge Adam Levine. She would eventually be eliminated in the “ battle rounds.”

Now the Diamond Bar resident and the only Californian left in the competition is in the Top 11 because of not only her talent but also because she received one of the two judges’ “saves” (the last one to be exact)  a week ago when she made it into the Top 12.

Tonight we find out if her talent can propel her into that Top 10 which will land her a spot on the Idol Summer Tour and that will be a lucrative journey not only for her bank account but also for exposure of her vocal talents and practice for her stage presence.

“The real difference between Idol and The Voice, I think, is that Idol focuses more on the contestants and The Voice on the judges. Of course, I like Idol more just because of that. See, I doubt I’d be doing this interview right now if I were on The Voice,” the 18-year old Duru said earlier this week in a phone interview.
