Remember this past American Idol season as each of the Top 10 finalists were eliminated the execs cued the song “Gone, Gone, Gone” and off the contestants went into oblivion.

Well, now Idol’s top two executive producers – Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick – are just that, gone,
gone, gone.

Over the weekend it was announced that they either a) resigned or b) were fired after the show suffered its lowest ratings in a 12-year run this past season.

They join judges Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj as “former” Idol employees. Only judge Keith Urban is still on-board – sorta, for the moment.

Over the coming days we’ll do a little research to come up with the ideas that sunk the good ship Nigel/Ken.

Something didn’t work, or maybe it was a lot of things that didn’t work.
