Kelly Clarkson did Patti Page and Carole King proud with tribute songs to both during Sun day night’s Grammy Awards Show. Clarkson was also one of two former American Idol winners to walk away with a Grammy. This one was for her album “Stronger” in the Pop Vocal Album category. She won the
inaugural season of AI.
The other former Idol contestant to win on Sunday was Carrie Underwood (season four AI winner) for “Blown Away” in the Country Solo Performance category.
So, that’s 11 seasons of Idol winners and two Grammy-award winners. Is that a good percentage? Probably not.
