But if you do, then starting at about 6:20 PDT we will be offering updates on the progress of the next-to-last elimination. We get down to two tonight. Who goes? Adam? Danny? Kris?

– They do a “mini-AI Gives Back” performance. I still think that is lame. They should have continued to do an entire “A-I Gives Back” show.

– It’s going home night – first up Danny who proclaims the homecoming bittersweet. He has a huggy, huggy reunion with his BFF Jamar. Remember him? He tried out with Danny but was elminated a while back. No results yet…

– Next is Kris in Conway, Ark. He, too, is overwhelmed, but makes the most of it. Still, no results…

– Here’s a little update while the show progresses. Recall Tuesday night when KD and SC had a little spat over Kris’ song “Apologize”? Here is how it went down…

In short, the backstory to what Simon said to Kara. I was told that all the judges were given the opp to work w/ each kid- -they were told the time slot for each kid’s rhrsl. They could come & advise the contestant on how 2 get the most of their song. But on rhrsl day, only one judge actually showed up and did that- guess which one.”

So, Simon helped Adam, KD & RJ did nothing for Kris and then criticized him. Duh!!!!!

– Finally, Adam, does the morning news, puts makeup on the weather girl (save some for yourself, Adam), visits the school where he performed as a kid and then answers kids’ questions before singing the National Anthem at Miramar Naval Air Station in SD. Still, of course, no results…

– This is starting to look more and more like it’s going to be the obvious result – Kris goes … but we shall see…

– Katy Perry performs.

– 88 million votes and only 1 million separated the top two…

– Kris Allen is first and he is ….. SAFE!

– So it comes down to Gokey and Lambert – and … Danny Gokey is ELIMINATED!

– Next week either Kris Allen or Adam Lambert will be the next American Idol….
