The Top 13 finalists

Ryan says it all started with 75,000 but I think he is off by about 20 grand or I hope so because in the past seasons over 100,000 or close to it tried out and this year it was revealed earlier that at least 90,000 tried out.

All Top 20 are holding hands, nervous yes; yawn, double yes.

Stools are gone, shiny chairs, all 13 of them, are in. Top 10 will be revealed and others will sing for three wild card spots.

Five who sing for the three wild cards; the other five are sent packing without a chance and only a “thanks for coming” well-wish:

CJ Harris – “Bring It On Home” by Sam Cooke.  CJ sang this during Hollywood week. Connick, Jr. thought it was average. “I didn’t feel any of the magic,” he said.

Jena Irene – An original song. Not bad.

Spencer Lloyd – Another original song. Not good, JLo says: “That’s not sure what I wanted America to see in this moment.”

Bria Anai – “This is a Man’s World” – Connick, Jr. said she overshot the mark. He might be correct on this one.

Kristen O’Connor – “Unconditionally” by Katy Perry – Very nervous. She actually chokes up.

The judges announce three wild cards: Keith Urban: Jena Irene; Harry Connick, Jr.: Kristen O’Connor’ JLo: CJ Harris. (NOTE: Bria and Spencer were robbed.)
