The rumors continue to float around American Idol just a week after the Season 12 finale. Even ex-judge Randy Jackson got back into the mix on Friday morning.

Good Morning America caught up with Jackson in Florida where he was donating some of his guitars to the
military. He said he quit, he wasn’t fired; he wouldn’t acknowledge any relationship he knew of between Simon Cowell and Paul Abdul when the three of them were on the judges’ panel (although he did so, shall we say, half-heartedly); and he alluded to the fact that his being on a judging panel somewhere might not have hit the end game. In other words, much to your dismay, you just might be hearing “She’s in it to win it!” sometime soon on a network near you…

Maybe the newest show should be called “So You Think the Ratings Are Down.” Well, they are. Final prelim numbers for American Idol – Wednesday shows off 26 percent; Thursday shows down 23 percent. Do ya really thnk it’s time for a change?

Future judges report: Kelly Clarkson appears to be a no go while Jennifer Hudson is looking promising.

Finally, Mariah Carey performed on GMA Friday morning with guest Miguel doing one number with her. During her opening number, Mariah’s dress was falling apart in the back on stage and she did an interview while a seamstress
came to her rescue. At times her microphone wasn’t working properly and the opening of the number with Miguel had sound problems. All in all it was one of the more forgettable acts in GMA history. Had she been doing this as an Idol
contestant she never would have made it to Hollywood.

Rumors continue to circulate that not only Randy Jackson,
who announced his retirement from the Idol judges’ panel last week, but all
four judges are gone next season. Who will replace them? Now the word is rather
strong that it will be Idol alums on a three-person panel and it’s almost a
foregone conclusion.

Names being considered: Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken.

From the “We can’t make this stuff up” department comes a story out of York, Pa. and
West Manchester Township where a couple, one 48-years-old and the other 57,
stabbed each other after arguing over who should win the Idol title last week,
Candice Glover or Kree Harrison. The couple didn’t deny the incident, the only
detail they disagreed on was who stabbed whom first. They were being held in
jail at last report.

Keith Urban, who will perform in Chula Vista on Sept. 28, is still up in the air about his future as an American Idol judge. “I have no idea. For me, I’m in the studio literally this week finishing up my album and putting a tour together, hitting the road in July.”
Urban was speaking last Thursday following the AI finale and after his initial
season as an Idol judge.

Keith has one strike against him – he’s not an Idol alum.

The beast of all trivia questions. This one will get you quite a few beers at your next bar stop.

In the American Idol finale for Season 12 last Thursday, on his last show after all 12 Idol seasons, what was judge Randy Jackson wearing?

Here you go, exclusively from Idol publicity: Jacket by Saint Laurent; necklace by Nialaya; pin by Ben Amun; and cuffs by Saint Laurent.

Cheers!

Nicki Minaj talking to Ryan Seacrest on her relationship with Mariah Carey: “I really thought we were friends. That’s the other thing I learned. This industry is so fake. You walk away thinking people are your friends, and they’re not.”

Will she be back as an Idol judge? “That’s the million-dollar question.”

Nicki – you aren’t an Idol alum.

Kris Allen has undergone another surgery on the wrist he broke in a car accident. He
said on his website: “For those of you who are getting worried right about now …
don’t. I will be fine. After everything is healed, I will be able to play
guitar. I will be able to play piano. I will be able to do the things that I
love to do. Just not a proper pushup.”

Maybe it’s just an invalid perception. Or maybe a glance the wrong way. But the American Idol question that begs to be answered: Whatever happened to Adam Lambert?

Oh, yes, he will perform on July 2nd at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

Yes, he is working on a new record.

Yes, he performed in last week’s Idol finale with Final 3 contestant Angie Miller.

But since his second-place finish four years ago (and what a joke that was) in Season 8, he has all but disappeared from mainstream Americana music. So where did this enormously talented San Diegan go?

Try around the world. That’s what he said at a press conference last week.

“I’ve been doing a lot, lot of traveling since Idol,” Lambert said. “Now we are working on a new album but I can’t say anything about that. I got in trouble before when I talked about it. I’ve pretty much been around the world. Spent a lot of time in Asia and Scandinavia. I got to play with Queen and that was such an inspiration.

“Queen was awesome. I was flattered and terrified at the same time. I know that no one compares to Freddy Mercury, but they all made me feel so at ease. I had a blast.

“We are still in touch. Brian (May) and Roger (Taylor) email me and we say hello. We left everything open. Who knows, something could happen (between Lambert and Queen) in the future.”

But Lambert is still very aware that it was his Idol journey that launched a successful, albeit limited in the U.S., career. And finishing second still doesn’t seem to bother him.

“When it gets down to the final few … it doesn’t matter who wins. For the final three for sure it’s all about launching your career. See, everyone knows who Kree Harrison is now.

“American Idol is a lot like a boot camp. You are working fast, getting ideas out, learning how to do commercials, learning how to do interviews, working on-stage in front of a big audience, conquering your nerves. The whole Idol experience does a really good job with all of that. It sets you up for a lot.”

The stage is also Lambert’s other love. Is that a career option for him?

“I’m going back to New York in a couple of weeks just to see a couple of friends’ plays. Would I like to work on Broadway? Of course, if the right role came along. It would have to be something edgy, weird and out there.”

After a dozen seasons, Idol seems to be in a state of flux with dwindling ratings and a judges’ panel that wasn’t universally received this year. Would Lambert ever consider being a judge himself?

“I don’t know,” he said, but if they called me … like where do I sign?” he laughed. “It would be really cool to help people to keep their vision focused. You have to realize you have family, judges, producers and the other contestants screwing with your head. It would be inspiring to help get them to reach their dreams.”

And just maybe, as a judge, Lambert could reconnect with the music public back in the U.S.

Season 12 American Idol winner Candice Glover held a conference call with the media last Friday after her victorious announcement on the show Thursday night. Here is what she had to say:

Q: What was running through your head when you found out you won? What were your first thoughts and reactions?

CG: Well, I immediately thought about the album that I’m going to be
recording and the fact that my album was on preorder as soon as the show was
over on Thursday night and people could buy that. I was super excited about that and going on tour and just getting myself out there.
But mostly I just thought about the fact that I had been here three
times already, this was my third time, so I was definitely excited.

Q: What are you most looking forward to about the tour?

CG: I’m looking forward to singing and not having to worry about being judged or being
eliminated the following day, or getting votes or anything. Mostly just singing for the fans and getting my music out there and just being with the Top 10, or Top 11, again.

Q: I am wondering—you auditioned twice before and didn’t make it through to
the live rounds. That had to be really tough on your confidence. I’m wondering
why you decided to keep trying for Idol and what made you decide to give it another chance and then another chance and to think that this time it might be different?

CG: I definitely was hurt and broken hearted when I got cut, but for some
reason, even though I kept saying that I wasn’t coming back, I kept thinking
maybe this one time that it’ll work, this one time it’ll work. I would always say no, but then I would find myself looking at auditions again online.
Then going and saying if it doesn’t work this time, I’ll just find a way
to branch my music career another way. But I’m so glad that it worked.

Q: Was there an point during the competition that you thought maybe this time it won’t work, either? I’m just thinking particularly of that week that only Mariah Carey had you on her Top 3 list, which shocked me. I’m wondering what your response was to that?

CG: That was Top7 week, so I was definitely worried at the fact that Mariah
was the only one that picked me that week. At the same time, I felt like that was the week that I had one of my weaker performances, so I definitely understood. But, that is how “Don’t Make Me Over” by Burt Bacharach and “Love Song” by The Cure came about. I decided that I needed something that would put me over the edge and show people why I was in the competition to begin with. At the same time, while it hurt, it also gave me a boost to do my best the next week.

Q: When you look at all of the Idols that are more remembered than others,
aside from your amazing music, how are you going to stay in the spotlight in
all of our minds moving forward so we don’t forget about Candice?

CG: That’s why I’m definitely glad that Idol took a different approach as far as the album this year, because it’ll be out on July 16th and it’s on pre-order now. While I’m still fresh in people’s minds, they can order the album, because if they like me, if they voted for me, then they can order the album. That’s a good way to keep the American Idol winner in
the minds of everybody. Also, getting myself out there and probably trying to do
other things as far as acting and modeling after careers of the other people
that have won and even people that haven’t had the chance of winning, like
Jennifer Hudson, but she also did very well in her career.

Q: If you had the chance, and you were auditioning again next year, would
you want to audition in front of these same judges?

CG: Definitely. I told someone that these are my favorite judges. Not only
because I did a good job on the show but because they all were a great asset to
the panel. I can’t think of singing for anybody else.

Q: I just wanted to followup a little bit on what you just mentioned as far as the fast release of the album. I was just wondering was that all the more challenging to rehearse for the show while doing song writing and all that on the side.

CG: It was definitely a challenge. The night that we made the Top 3, before we flew home to our home towns, we were approached with the songs, just in case we made the Top 2. So you had going home on your mind, you had singing your hometown concert on your mind, but you also had the fact that when you flew back, you had to sing three songs.
Then you also had to choose your single as if you had made Top 2.

There was so much to think about, but at the same time, if you just pace yourself and take it one day at a time. I think that’s why I was really happy that I got a chance to do three songs—not just got the chance, but I glad that I go the song that I got and how I came about doing that song, because I was definitely connecting with the lyrics and everything.

Q: Yes, as Keith said, it was definitely tailor made for you. One quick followup on that, as well. I wanted to ask—at points you came across a little bit shy in the competition. I was
just wondering how that played out. Was it difficult to be on the show being a little bit shy?

CG: Yes, it was definitely difficult to be on such a popular show and being
shy and reserved and stuff like that. You’ve got all these bubbly people that are so fun and stuff like that and you’re just more laid back. People tend to gravitate to the ones that are more excited. I’ll be excited, but you would never know by looking at my face, because I’m such a reserved and laid back person. But I think it definitely brought out the
inner crazy in me and it brought me out of my shell a little bit.

Q: In terms of looking back at your experience on Idol, do you have a favorite judge? If so, why? Or anyone that you respect in particular?

CG: I don’t know if I have a favorite judge, but I do know that I connect more with Randy because he’s been there the whole time that I was there in the three years. He’s seen me grow and I definitely look forward to his opinion as well as Mariah Carey’s, because she’s
been doing this forever and she knows what it’s like. And Nicki also knows what it’s like
today. So I look up to all three of them and getting a chance to meet Keith Urban.
I think they all bring something good to the table.

Q: Last night, you talked a little bit about taking things to the next level with your career. Part of that is to dream really, really big. So, biggest picture you can imagine, do you see yourself being bigger than Mariah and Nicki?

CG: Do I see myself doing that?

Q: Yes, being bigger than those two?

CG: I would definitely model my career after them. I don’t know.
It’s a pretty hard act to follow, because Mariah and Nicki are both
great in their different genres. So I don’t know, I would just have to hope for the best and hope that I can do as well as they are.

Q: You also, the other night, didn’t know what you wanted to splurge on. I wondered if you had some time to think about that since you’ve won. What do you
want to get yourself as a surprise, kind of, thanks myself thing?

CG: Well, I got a car. That’s it, and I would probably just pay all my bills.
That’s the most thing—I still haven’t even gotten a chance to. I know you asked me that yesterday, but I still haven’t even gotten a chance to really think. But now that I think about it, I have some bills that need to be paid.

Q: I wanted to ask you, when you gave your grandma the Ford Fiesta, what did she whisper in your ear?

CG: She just said “I love you.” I think she was pretty speechless. She
didn’t really know what to think. She was really having a hard time; she was really overwhelmed. Especially when I won, I think she almost passed out. So I don’t know what happened over there, I think she was just—I don’t know, I would have to ask my
mom. I was kind of worried about her. But she was just overwhelmed with the whole
thing. Just saying she loves me and she supports me through whatever.

Q: What did your parents say to you before the show and afterwards?

CG: Before the show, they’d just say whatever happens, you’ve done a good job. This is your third time, Top 2 is definitely an accomplishment, don’t be sad if you don’t win. I’ve always said I’m content either way it goes. Then, after the show, just saying how proud of me. We all just kind of sat there and realized that I actually came on the show a third time and won. It was just an amazing feeling; we just all soaked it in.

Q: By the end of Wednesday night’s performance show, based on the judges critiques, they seemed to think you kind of had the edge on Kree. What impact did
that have on you afterwards? Like the next day when you were waiting for the results.
Did you grow confident that you might be the winner?

CG: You mean when I got a good critique on Top 2 night?

Q: Yes, like you had the edge that night?

CG: I don’t know. Because the judges, when they give you good critique, they’re not the ones that are voting. So they give you their input and everything, but at the end of the day, it all depends on your fans and everything.

Kree is amazing, so at the same time, when we were waiting for the result to be called, we were calling each other’s names and saying you won, and she was like, no you won. We definitely had no idea what was going to happen because America is so unpredictable sometimes.

Q: Up until the last couple weeks, Angie was presented as the clear front runner throughout most of the competition. Looking back, I guess, did
you ever think you had a chance to beat her and win? And did the fact she was considered the front runner and had so much hype surrounding her, did that that almost take the pressure off a little bit, and maybe even work to your benefit?

CG: I know that Angie has a humongous fan base, and her fans are very dedicated to her. I even would go as far as saying that I knew that Angie would possibly be the winner, all because of her fan base and how big her fan base was.

CG: I don’t know if I would say it was like a benefit that she went home, but I
definitely know that, no matter, I knew she would be successful. I knew it was a shock to America and everything when she got cut because she’s phenomenal. I know that no matter what, she’ll be fine, like I said.

I don’t know if she was a threat. Everybody in the Top 5, all the girls were so different and we had our different fan bases for different reasons.
So I wouldn’t say she was a threat to anyone.

Q: I would like to know is, what would you say is the single best thing that
you’ve learned about yourself as an artist throughout this process?

CG: I’ve learned that I’m very, very different and some of the ideas that I
have are really odd to some people. Like doing a Drake song. Drake is a hip-hop
or rap artist and I surprised a lot of people by doing that.

I think that I learned that I need to just take those ideas on full-force and go
with them. Don’t hide behind, you know, trying to do what I think America loves.
I think the previous seasons, I kind of fell short because of that, because I was so worried. But this year, I finally realized that I’m different and I need to embrace it.

Q: As a follow-up, do you feel comfortable that you’ll be able to express
that on your first album?

CG: Yes, I’m definitely confident. Some of the stuff that I’ve been doing and listening to, I definitely know that it’ll be different.

Q: Your duet with Jennifer Hudson was amazing. How did you feel before
that? Did you think you would keep up with her? Were you nervous? How did you feel? You killed it.

CG: All of the above. I was nervous, I didn’t know if I was going to keep up. I thought I was going to suck, actually. I called my vocal coach, Michael Orland, and I said can we please practice one more time because I don’t think that I’m good enough to be up there and do this. But he said I don’t think we have time to practice, just go over it in your head and everything will be fine. I was so nervous and so scared, but I’m really glad I got a chance to do that with her.

Q: Well, you did keep up with her, and you actually surpassed that. Do you
think you’ll do a future collab with her, or anybody else in the future, like
that?

CG: I would definitely love to do a collaboration with her if she’s willing to do it. She’s so phenomenal and I look up to her and people
like Jazmine Sullivan, who’s my favorite singer of all time, and Kim Burrell,
and even Drake and Nicki Minaj—I would love to do some different things with
them and have different aspects of my album.

Q: You mentioned the upside of getting to release the album early in that you’re going to be fresh on people’s minds and they’re going to know you, they’re going to be craving your music, and it’s going to be, probably, more beneficial to sales as far as that’s
concerned. But I’m wondering if there might be a downside as far as so quickly recording everything, if it might, maybe, rush you into a certain niche, or maybe box you into a style that you might not be comfortable with. How are you attacking that quick turnaround time?

CG: I’m definitely focusing on not being put in a box. That’s the one thing
that I don’t want to happen. I want to be able to be broad and expand my—not to go as far as to say create a new genre, but do my own thing and not worry about being oh, she’s just the R&B diva. The single that I have out right now is R&B with a touch of pop, and I know pop is something nobody expected me to ever do. So I just want to keep
that unexpected aspect going.

Q: Earlier on the call, you referenced a lot of the success Idol
winners and contestants have had outside of just music. I’m wondering, though, now that you’ve won this and this was such a huge goal for you for such a long time, what is your next big goal? What can you say once you achieve that that you’ve done it, you’ve don’t what you wanted to do and whatever happens after that point doesn’t really matter? What’s that overarching goal for you right now?

CG: I think having an album is a pretty good goal to accomplish. I think,
definitely to model after the career of Jennifer Hudson, and be in movies and
do different things like that. Actually go further than music, and I would definitely love to do something like that.

Q: My question is, it’s not easy to make a professional like Nicki Minaj break down in tears, and you did it with an amazing song. I’m absolutely in love with “Next To Me” right now. Can you remember what went through your head at the time when Nicki was just crying when you did that song?

CG: Well, she had seen my hometown visit before that. I saw her crying while the tape was being played and everything. I think she knows what it’s like to have your career take off after coming from just living a normal life and trying to pay your bills and stay on
top of things. So I think that connected with her.

We had that moment because I know how it feels to work a 10-hour job and want you music to work but then having all these different things stopping you. Then she also talked about my confidence, and that’s also something that I used to struggle with. I’m glad that I had that time to connect with her.

Q: What performance were you most proud of this season?

CG: I was definitely proud of the way that “Lovesong” turned out. I was so
excited to do that song and I finally got a chance to. I’m really glad about how it turned out.

Q: My question for you is, did you ever, when you did receive any negative
feedback from the judges, take it to heart, or go online, like I did, and read
nasty stuff online. If you did, how did you push past some of the negativity?
Or, if you had a down night, which you rarely did, and just deliver just
powerhouse vocals every time?

CG: I’m glad you said the thing about reading online because that is poison.
It’s so bad to get on there and read that type of stuff. But at the same time—and it hurt my feelings, as I’m sure it hurt yours—but seeing all that stuff about you, all it did was
push me to do better the next week.

When I did “Satisfaction” in Top 7, when all the judges didn’t put me in their top three, but Mariah did, and just seeing, on top of that, seeing what online
thought about me and saying stuff about me, I pushed forward and did “Lovesong”
and I did the other songs. It pushed me. When I got back critiques from the
judges, I just used it as fuel to be better the next week.

Q: Well, and look where it got you: you won. Did you ever have a number in
mind? Like when I was cut from the original Top 32, I didn’t make it and then was called back for a wild card, I remember thinking if I can just make the Top 12, and then if I can just make the Top 10 and go on tour, and then if I can just make it halfway, and that’s when I was voted off. Did you ever have a number in mind? Like, okay, Top 3 is my goal? Or Top 5 is my goal?

CG: Yes. I remember speaking to my parents and saying if I could just make it to the Top 20 and get to voting, I know that I would have a fan base that would vote me into the Top 10. If I could just do Top 10, Top 5, Top3. Then when I got to Top 2, I said oh my gosh,
next Wednesday I could probably win this entire show. Then it happened. I still can’t even believe that it did.

Q: You said that this was your third time trying out for American Idol. Can you tell us how far you go the first two times you tried out?

CG: The first time I made it to the Top 70 and I got cut when they split you into the different rooms. The second time, Season 11, I was in a group with Jessica Sanchez and DeAndre Brackensick and we sang “It Doesn’t Matter Anymore” by Buddy Holly. I was Top 60 and I got cut at that point.

Q: What was your favorite part about this whole process, other than winning, of course?

CG: My favorite part, I would think, would have to be meeting Smokey Robinson and having Aretha Franklin know who you are, and Drake surprising me on the show, and Paula Abdul—all those different people that are stars that you look up to and having them acknowledge your talent.

Q: Your album is now, obviously, going to be released a lot earlier than most Idol winners’ albums are. Normally they’re released in November.
I’m just wondering how are you going to get it all done? Are you going to do it all before the tour starts? How much have it have you done already? Do you have songs picked out?

CG: I have songs that I’ve been listening to and focusing on. But the one song that’s on iTunes right now is the only one that I’ve actually gone and recorded. It comes out on July 16th, and the tour starts on June 29th. I’m just excited to see how it goes, as well as being on tour. I’m definitely going to have to work hard, to be in a studio late hours, and doing the album.

Q: Are you going to be able to do any song writing for the album, then?
Because you don’t have much time.

CG: I definitely would hope so. If there’s no time, then there’s no time, but I definitely would love to get that done.

Q: Looking back, again, to last year, when you were in that group with Jessica.
Have you maintained a friendship with her? Have you talked to her, or did you talk to
her last night? Has she given you any advice?

CG: Definitely. She was at the party last night. I talked to her all the time on the season
last year, encouraging her and voting for her and being there when she needed
someone to talk to. So I definitely maintained that friendship. She always
would tell me be yourself and just go through the whole thing and pace
yourself, because it’s going to get harder down the road.

Q: Remember earlier in the year when they gave you some inkling of how the voting went? They told you that South Carolina voted 90% for you or something like that. Did they give you any inkling last night on how the voting went?

CG: No, no. The only thing I got was the card that Ryan read off of. It didn’t say anything but announcing my name. But ever since that first week, that Top 10 week, I didn’t know.

Q: What about, not when they just did the percentages, but the weeks that no one went home? Did you ever find out exactly what the vote was?

CG: No, we never find out what the vote is. Even when they announce it, they say it in no particular order, so we never know what the exact vote is. I think it’s a good thing that we
don’t, because it might mess with our confidence a little bit.

Q: What’s the thing that surprised you the most, through your whole
experience?

CG: I knew that it was going to be a lot of work, but I did not know that it was going to be this much work. Joshua Ledet and Jessica, all of them would tell me last year this is going to be a lot of hard work and you’re going to do the Ford commercials and everything on Sundays. I thought it was going to be easy breezy, whatever, but we worked super hard.

Q: I wanted to ask you, when you would practice your autograph, … and when you would make the YouTube videos in your house of yourself singing, what did you daydream about that fame would look like?

CG: I would dream about it ever since I was younger than that. When I would be in the living room when no one was home and just blasting the music from the computer and having the remote in my hand and I just imagined there being a sea of people below me, reaching for my hand. Me being on a tour or in a place of 7,000 people like I was this past week. I definitely would fantasize about what would actually happen or what it would feel like to have people ask for your autograph, which is why I would practice it at
work and stuff like that. And it’s finally happening.

Q: What would you tell that person now?

CG: I would tell her to be yourself and not worry about what America thinks about you, or what anybody thinks about you. Just go out there and be confident in who you are.

Q: Was there ever a particular point when you first began to feel you might actually have a chance of winning the whole thing? If so, when was it during the season?

CG: I think, when I first auditioned, Nicki said if you don’t make it to the last round of this entire competition, then something is definitely wrong. That stuck with me throughout the whole competition. And I stuck with that, and
I said okay, I just have to make it to the last round.

I just want to make Nicki proud and my family.
Mariah had asked me for a mix tape at my audition, she was asking for an
album. Ever since then, I said okay, this is going to turn out to be something good.
So I just stuck with my plans of what I’ve been doing the whole time and
it just worked out.

Q: You got to close out the show Wednesday night with that powerhouse performance of “I, Who Have Nothing,” and Kree also got awesome reviews for her final performance.
So did you almost feel like you had a slight advantage because you got to finish out the show and were obviously fresh on home viewers’ minds right before voting began?

CG: I don’t know if it was an advantage, because there was only two of us.
Usually, like in Top 10, if you get the order, you worry about being
forgotten if you go early in the show. But there was only me and Kree and it was only one hour, so I was just confident in all three of my performances. But at the same time, so was Kree, and she did a real good job. We went into on Thursday night not really
knowing what was going to happen.

Q: What did you do in the past year that made the biggest difference in being better and better prepared for this year?

CG: I just listened to every single genre of music out there and got my musical knowledge up. I just focused on being myself more and being different and not worrying about being accepted. In the previous two years, I cared about that a little bit more than I should have, and I think that’s why it didn’t really work out. This time, I was confident and
it worked out.

Candice’s closing remarks:

CG: I just want to tell everybody thank you for being on the call. I appreciate you supporting me and I had fun talking to you. Thank you.

Tell us about your signing with Lyric Street and then parting ways with the label:

KH: “I didn’t know then exactly what I wanted to do, because I was 10 years old. I knew exactly what I didn’t want to do , which was more of the bubblegum pop country that was kind of happening at the time. It wasn’t the right time. It wasn’t necessarily that I was butting heads with the label. They were amazing to me, and more than anything, taught me to stay true to who I was. There was a lot of things that happened–a lot of tragedy in my family. I think it was good to sit back and do some soul searching. Not just emotionally but as an artist. I felt like this through this whole Idol
journey, it’s taught me so much more that–everything I’ve been through and
all the experiences that I’ve had in the industry just makes you exactly who
you are. And that comes out in your music.”

How have you developed such an upbeat outlook on life although you have
experienced tragedy in your life, losing both parents?

KH: “I think at the end of the day, it’s a choice. You can choose to live your lives happy and whatever happens to you, you take with a grain of salt. For me, this is the sweet after the bitter that I’ve had in my life. I like to share that, make people feel the same way.”

What did you feel about Keith Urban’s sometimes harsh critique of your performances?

“The four judges–I respect so much and always have. And especially Keith because we’re both country singers. If at any point he gave me critiques, I took it as
constructive criticism, because at the end of the day, you can’t really grow
if you’re not listening and learning from your peers. I always took it to
heart . I’ve always had a problem in the beginning of my career being able to
connect emotionally, just because it is a harder thing to do, to open up. But
I feel like, through this process it’s really happened, and I feel so good
about it.”

Talk about your friendship with Kellie Pickler and the rumors that you would get
matching tattoos if you both won your respective competitions.

KH: “OK. This is a joke that’s just gone wrong! I talk to her all the time. But I haven’t heard from her. I’m sure she understands that it’s a whirlwind. But I will definitely
talk to her. And I’m so freaking proud of her. I hope she wins Dancing With
the Stars. I’m rooting for her. I know the Idol family is too. Me and
Angie and Janell voted for her. We’re so proud of each other, and I’ve gotten
to see her at the studios. She’s such an amazing woman and friend. I hope to
collaborate soon.”

What are you most looking forward to when you get home?

KH: “I’m not going to b mad about laying in my bed. I definitely am going to get as much rest as I possibly can. We’ve been working our butts off. More than anything I (want to) sink it all in, everything that’s happened. I can’t wait to go back to
Nashville and make music.”

When will your album come out?

KH: “My single is released, which I can’t even believe I can say that out loud. It’s on iTunes. I hope y’all are going to go purchase it. I don’t know! The tour is tomorrow, and I feel like–I have the world in my hands right now to make a good record and I’m so happy about it. As soon as I can, I’m going to start writing and collaborating with other singer/songwriters. We’ll see what happens. I can’t wait to share it.”

Why do you think that your new single is the right choice for you?

KH: “I was so happy this song was pitched to me. Steve McEwan, Katrina Elam and Gordie Sampson wrote this song. I feel like it’s 100% me and I couldn’t be more thankful to call it my own. It’s definitely got the traditional country roots and the
soul that I want. I feel like, lyrically, I couldn’t have [written] this song
better myself. I hope that people love it, I really do and look forward to
the rest of the record.”

Are you going to play it on the Grand Old Opry?

KH: “Today’s my birthday, and it’s the best birthday present I’ve ever gotten in my life. One of my life long goals is to play the Grand Ole Opry and to stand where all of my peers and all those country music legends have stood. It’s going to be hard not to kiss that circle. Keith Urban told me! And I cried. It was a very special–it was a good moment. I’m happy that we shared it .”

Who was your favorite judge and which one do you respect the most?

KH: “They brought so many different things and opinions and advice to me. I can’t imagine just picking one. Last night, being able to play with Randy and Keith–obviously Travis–but those two judges. I’m so thankful. I couldn’t possibly pick one. I do love
Keith and I hope that we get to collaborate more in the future.”

Following your finale performance did you think you would win?

KH: “ I think that we were all–we were in it to win it, as Randy would say. But at the end of the day. The title for me is not just the American Idol. I’ve already reached the limit of creating a following. And that’s what each of us came here to do. Standing there last night with Candy, I was so freaking proud of her. And she’s so proud of me. We’re living our dreams right now, whether or not I have that title. I feel like I have won. I’m runner-up. But I’m so blessed that I could be part of this Idol journey.
It’s made me even more of an artist. I’m happy. I’m over the moon about it.”

While you were standing there waiting for Ryan to reveal the winner, what was going through your mind?

KH: “What was going through my head was what I was saying out
loud. We were both telling each other how proud we were. I said ‘if you make
it, if you win, you better sing your butt off!’ She was laughing at me. Have
you heard her? I’m so freaking proud of her. She’s incredible. We’re both
rooting for each other–both of our singles.”

Did you feel like you had a shot to win over Candice?

KH: “I never know what’s going to happen. It’s always been in America’s hands. The truth is, the whole Top 10–we’re all so completely different. And especially me and Candice. It’s apples and oranges as far as music goes. I had no idea what was going to happen. Either way, the result–was a win win for both of us.”

Were you shocked that you advanced to the finale and not Angie?

KH: “I was! If you can’t tell, I’m not a very good actress. What you see is what you get. I definitely was shocked. I feel like all of us deserve it, but I think it was just the moment of reality. I tried to live in the moment each step of this whole process. Whenever he [Ryan] called our name, I just couldn’t believe I would be able to perform another week. I was just so happy. The support–you feel it at that moment–wow all of you people voted for me to sing another week. That was such an amazing…yeah I was
shocked.”

How did you feel after the show last night?

KH: “They all sang Happy Birthday, which was really awesome. We
had the freaking show of our lives! Are you kidding? It was so much fun. I
tweeted earlier. The best part about it was celebrating the finale with the
Idol family. Not just the contestants, but the whole crew. You become so
close to these people, that you work with every single day, It’s been every
waking moment with each other. It was very special. It was an amazing night.”
What are you looking forward to about working on your record in Nashville?

KH: “The whole process is exciting in itself, because it is such a process. You write, you listen to the songs, you go in the studio and you create what is yours. It’s like
birth–it’s like creating your baby to grow up and share with the world. It’s
what we live for. I can’t wait for all of it.”

Why did you choose to go first after the coin toss?

KH: “You know what? At that moment, I was just ‘I don’t care if
I go first or second’ It’s just the two of us. I get to sing at the finale,
and I’m freaking excited about it. I don’t know. They said ‘what do you want’
and I asked her first, and she said I want to go second, so I said fine. I
don’t care. I was just so happy to be able to perform again.”

What will you sing on the Sumer Tour?

KH: “Honestly, I don’t know, but I would hope that people would
give me suggestions for what they want to hear, because, I think that I could
pretty much pick anything. Not just the songs that I performed on the show. I
would love to sing ‘Up to the Mountain.’ I’ve always been a huge fan of Patty
Griffin. She wrote that song, and she’s an amazing singer. There’s a
connection with that song. I’ve always loved it. My mom loved that song. I
would love to bring that energy every night.”

What is your advice for those auditioning for Season 13?

KH: “Pace yourself. But more than anything, I feel like, the beauty of coming into such an instant situation in competition, is that you have to know who you are as an artist
because, I feel like that’s what will make you stand out.”

What did you do after the show last night?

KH: “The adrenaline that me and Candy were feeling last night
was over the moon, so it was hard to just go and sit down. We were so
exhausted! We went out to the wrap party and started to hug everybody that
we’ve made family with, basically. They all sang Happy Birthday and obviously
we celebrated just the Top 10 and each other, and the fact that we’re going
to go on tour. It was a really fun night. And then I went to sleep, because I
was exhausted.”

What did you learn from the other contestants?

KH: “So many things. I’m inspired every day by how much
we’ve all grown, to be honest. We all bring something totally different
to the table. The fact that we get to go on tour together, and get to do that
every single night is such an amazing thing. But they’ve taught me so many
things. I’ve learned a ton.”

Who are you looking forward to hearing on the Summer Tour?

KH: “Everyone! I couldn’t possibly choose one. I am excited to
collaborate, for sure. Hopefully me and Candy get to do another duet.
Obviously Angie–just all the girls, really. Angie’s like my little sister. We’ve
roomed together since Vegas. I’m so freaking proud of all of them. Janelle’s
performance last night–I couldn’t believe it. She’s a star. She killed it,
she really did. I was so proud of everyone.”

What surprised you most about this season?

KH: “Just how much work goes into the show. Not just for us, but
for everybody. There’s so much hard work and people behind the scenes. I had
no idea that that really happened that way. I’m happy to be a part of that
experience – to make such good friends throughout this process.”

What will you miss most?

KH: “The Idol family. Really. I know I say this a thousand
times, but. The cast and crew–I adore. We spent every day together for
awhile. I’m really going to miss them. I’m going to try and stay in touch
with as many of them as I can.”

Do you have any rituals you do before the show?

KH: “Right before we’d all walk out-especially us girls–and we’d
just dance around and be silly and take in the moment. You know how it is!
It’s fast paced, it’s cool to share that experience with such an amazing
cast.”

Who would you like to collaborate with?

KH: “Honestly, there’s so many people, for so many different reasons, I couldn’t possibly name one. I know that June 4, I’m playing the Opry, and I can’t even really even fathom that–it’s so crazy. I know Keith Urban will be there so maybe
something will happen. I would love to collaborate with him. We’ll see.”

Did you get several choices of songs?

KH: “There’s a team of people constantly working throughout this
whole process. I honestly really do trust them. They’ve worked their butts
off trying to find songs for all of the Top 10. I’m lucky enough to be able
to have found the perfect single. Whenever they did play it for me, I knew
immediately that that was the one. Because, lyrically, I mean every word. I
believe that it’s such a good country song. People seem to really like it ,
and ho they buy the rest of the record.”

Kree’s closing remarks:

“I want to thank y’all so much. Wherever ya’ll are, you should
come out and see the tour. I know it starts June 29. I’d love to meet all of
you.”

For runnerup Kree Harrison. Not much difference only she starts out with a little less in her bank account, a lot less publicity, but nonetheless that same opportunity. Where can it take her? All she has to do it take a look back at last season and Season 11 runnerup Jessica Sanchez. She has certainly shown how to take advantage of an opportunity even if Ryan Seacrest didn’t proclaim her as the winner.

But now comes the interesting part – how different will Season 13 be as auditions commence today. Stay tuned.

Let’s get this out of the way right at the top. Candice Glover is going to be the American Idol Season 12 winner. No offense to runnerup Kree Harrison, but America’s voters aren’t that stupid… are they?

Wednesday night both took the stage to sing a trio of songs. The first five efforts didn’t matter much. But when Candice concluded the evening with “I Who Have Nothing” (first recorded 50 years ago by Ben. E. King) … not that it wasn’t sealed already, but that one cemented the deal. No contest. End of discussion…

–

So the curtain will come down Thursday night on the 12th season of Idol and the show will never be the same. To that I say – good. The judges will change, the format will be altered, the set will probably be revamped. The only constant will be announcer Ryan Seacrest and that is a very good thing since he
is the glue that holds this once-juggernaut of a production together.

Now, here is the key to any future success Idol might have – singing. What in the name of Nat King Cole has happened to good old-fashioned singing. Got to thinking more and more about that on Thursday morning after reading George Varga’s (hint: read anything this guy writes cause you will learn something) piece in UT San Diego on-line on Tony Bennett.

Mr. Bennett is a singer – period. He doesn’t dance around, he isn’t flamboyant, he carries himself with grace and style. And most of all he doesn’t scream, I mean SCREAM, at any point in a song. That’s what I hear all too often from all Idol contestants and that’s not what I need to hear.

And all of this is coming from a blogger who can barely whistle. But it’s true. For a show that billed itself as a “singing” competition it is the single biggest change that can be made next season. Put the emphasis back on square one – singing – which is where it belongs.

The best concert I ever saw? Simon & Garfunkel at the then San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium. Why? Because all they did was sing.

Good luck, Candice.

Candice Glover vs. Kree Harrison for the label of American Idol. Will either one
At the moment the answer is doubtful for either finalist.

No. 10 singer to be eliminated, Curtis Finch, Jr., has proclaimed that the producers,
to a certain extent, have “fixed” the competition so a female would win. In a
sense, he is correct.

The predicted winner here, as it has been since Hollywood week is Candice.

And if you just have to be the winner of Season 13, here are this summer’s tryout sites
and dates: San Francisco (July 16); Detroit (July 21); Atlanta (July 26);
Boston (Aug. 2); Austin, Texas (Aug. 7); and Omaha, Neb. (Aug. 11).

Eliminated American Idol contestant, Angie Miller, spoke with the nation’s media last Friday morning. Here is what she had
to say:

Do you feel winning Idol would has brought you closer to a successful career?

“I feel like in a way, that I’ve already won. Top 3 is amazing, And the exposure I’ve had on the show, and the journey, and everything. It’s been incredible.
I really wouldn’t change a thing. I’m proud of how far I’ve gotten.”

If you could pick one judge to come on board next season, who has never been on the show, who would it be?

“That’s such a hard question! There are so many people. I think it would be so cool if someone who has been on American Idol before came on the show as a
judge.”

What will Idol be missing by not having Randy Jackson there next season?

“He’s been a huge part of the show. I feel so blessed to have been on a year with him, to be a part of his journey. I’m grateful that he was a part of mine. It
will definitely be weird without him! The only one who’s been here forever.”

Who do you think will be the most fun on the tour?

“That’s a hard question. Everyone! We all get along. We really are just a family. The tour is going to be a blast. We’re going to have so much fun. I can’t
wait to meet all the fans. And sing full length songs and not be judged.”

Would she like to sing the National Anthem at Fenway Park some day?

“Yes! I would love that. That would be amazing.”

Did the judges constantly harping on you to play the piano get frustrating?

“Honestly, at first, it was upsetting, because I feel like they thought I was only good when I was playing the piano. I was like ‘I promise you, I can be
just as good off the piano.’ And I had to work and prove that to them. I feel like in the end, I did. I ‘m so glad I did that. I love being off
piano just as much as I love being on it.”

What was it about your home trip that helped build your confidence?

“I just remember being in Beverly, MA during that concert with thousands of people there, and being on that stage, and feeling so free–like so in the
moment. I remember thinking ‘Why don’t I feel like this on the American Idol stage?’ I really feel like I brought that feeling from that concert
with me on American Idol. And it showed, and it paid off.”

What can you tell us about your duet with Adam Lambert on the finale?

“That’s the great thing. I’m not going anywhere, I’m still here. I’m going to start rehearsing and practicing for the finale this week. I’m so excited. I
don’t know 100% what’s going to be going on yet, I’m so excited to be singing again. I’ll be singing on the Nokia stage, and I really can’t
wait.”

Tell us about your whole family getting the “Dream Big” tattoo.

“Dream big is a motto of mine. It has been for a long time now. Probably a year ago, I got the tattoo. Throughout this whole competition, ‘Dream Big’ has been
such a huge part of it. My whole family, all of them, surprised me, and they all got it tattooed as well to help support me. I’ve even seen other
friends who have gotten it–an incredible amount of support from friends and family have given me through tattoos! It’s the most random
thing, but it means so much, because it’s so permanent and it’s so real. I love my family and their support is amazing.”

Did the emphasis on the adversity Kree had to overcome in her personal life, in her homecoming video, affect the
votes in her favor? If so, does it frustrate you that maybe your elimination wasn’t based only on talent?

“I really don’t know about the voting. I know that one week, people can be on top, and they can be on the bottom. I don’t know if that so much swayed the voting. I
honestly don’t know about that. But I do know that it did not disappoint me at all. I love both of those girls, and they both deserve to be there,
I would never ever be like, ‘oh…a sob story.’ That’s her life. And she’s real. And she’s one of the most genuine girls that I know. I love her so
much. I didn’t even really think about that, honestly.”

Did you expect to make it to the Final 2? Were you shocked at your elimination? Where were the tears coming from?

“Every Thursday night, it’s always shocking, it’s always an emotional crazy night. I did feel confident in my performances. I was hoping and dreaming to be a part
of that finale, and I really wanted it. Of course it was shocking. I wanted it so badly. Even though it’s the end of American
Idol, this is just the start, the beginning. I can start planning my future. It’s exciting at the same time.”

What was going through your mind as you watched the boot video of your time on Idol, and as you tried to sing
that final song?

“I can’t believe that I was one of those people in a huge arena of thousands of people–that Iwas one of those people who were like ‘welcome back to American Idol!’
It’s incredible that way back then, at what seemed like years ago, that I dreamed of being a part of Top 3 and be able to sing at the finale. It
was incredible to see this whole journey and how it’s all happened. That I’m still here. It’s incredible–an amazing journey.”

One lesson that you learned on the show.

“I’ve learned so much. I’ve grown so much through this competition. I know who I am musically, and as an artist so much more. I know what I like and I don’t
like and what I should and shouldn’t do. What I should sing about–things like that. As a person, as well, I’ve learned so much about myself and
how to deal with things. And to remain true to yourself throughout everything that’s going on around you. It’s an incredible growing process
on the show.”

What is next for you after the tour?

“I just hope to get signed and put out an album, put out music. That’s what I want to do first. I want to focus on my music, and maybe go on another tour if
possible. Eventually, I want to do acting. Everything! I want to do so much.”

What kind of music would you like to make? Christian or pop?

“It’s neither of those, really. I’m not going to go in the Christian genre, and I’m not going to in the pop. I want to have music that has meaning and is
real–real life stuff. I don’t wanna sing about…I don’t want to have dance party music, but at the same time, I don’t want to put people to sleep. I
want to incorporate piano–the soulful piano sound with a lot of edge. I love the rock. If it’s a fast song, it’s more rock as opposed to pop. I
know the message that I want to send out, and I know the sounds that I want to do. I can’t wait to show it to people.”

Did you want to do more original songs this season?

Did she try or think about doing that? “Definitely thought about it. Definitely wanted to. I have more that I want to share, and I’m excited to on a
future album. But the show isn’t over! You still got to watch the finale!”

Tell us about your relationship with Candice Glover and Kree Harrison.

“I love talking about them! Me and Kree have been roommates since Top 20. We’ve been roommates forever. We’re so close. I can’t imagine going through this competition
without her. We’ve been supporting each other so much. It’s weird waking up in the morning without her there anymore. That’s strange. I love her
and Candice. We’ve gotten so close. With the Top 5 girls–we all got so close. They’re both so incredibly talented and deserve to be where they
are. Kree really is like a mom. I wake up in the morning sometimes and she’s like ‘you want breakfast? What do you want?’ She’s so nice. She
never thinks about herself. So selfless. Candice is just the funniest person to be around. I wish America really could just sit in a room and
talk with her for 5 minutes, they’d understand how hysterical she is. I feel so blessed to have made it this far with these two girls in the Top
3.”

What was it like to do background vocals on Mariah Carey’s album?

“I can’t believe it. I can’t believe I was in a position where Mariah Carey was coaching me. Her being able to give me tips in the studio and stuff. I really can’t
believe that happened. I never thought that would happen in a million years. ”

Who would you love to do a dream duet with?

“Definitely a huge musical inspiration of mine, 100% Jesse J. I love the soulful sound with the edge to it. Lots of her songs have that. I’ve done her songs on the
show…they’re such soulful, beautiful songs. They have a certain amount of edge and grit to it that I love. I would absolutely love to do a duet
with her one day. That would be amazing.”

What is one of the best pieces of advice you got from the judges?

“What really sticks out to me when I think of everything they’ve said–they didn’t just appreciate my voice, but they appreciated
the artistry and the songwriting and the knowing who I am as a person. I love how they really appreciated that. They stressed that
that was important–never lose your songwriting and who you are and what you stand for. It wasn’t really a critique, but just them saying
‘Thank you for being that way. Keep being that way.’ That meant the world to me.”

Will you be able to sing one of her own songs on tour?

“I don’t know, but I really really hope so! That would be amazing!

What were those first few moments like backstage after the results?

“It was a feeling of ‘Wow, OK. That really happened! OK. I’m off the show and now this is what it feels like…It’s time to move on and start thinking about the future.’
I didn’t want to dwell on how sad I was. I think the first initial thought was, ‘OK, I just got voted off. What’s the future going to
hold?’”

Did the Top 3 discuss predictions, or who could possibly be eliminated?

“Oh no. We don’t want to get our heads all wrapped up in ‘Oh…who’s going to get voted off?’ We just relaxed Wednesday night. We were, like, ‘Whatever happens, happens.
We all love each other, no matter what.’”

Did you watch previous seasons of American Idol?

“Yes, many years. Since I was 8.”

Given that and how you have now seen Idol from a different perspective, what do you think Idol needs to do to
change and get back its popularity?

“That’s a really good question! I think that they did a lot of great stuff this year. I loved how they did the Top 40 and the Top 20 thing, instead of doing the whole
‘long walk down.’ Remember how they used to do the Top 24? I like how they got rid of that and did Top 40 and Top 20. I really don’t know what
to say to change, cause I feel like it’s so good and they know what they are doing. I would love to incorporate more original songs.”

Have you ever attended the summer tour?

“Last year was the first year I did. That’s the first time I ever saw Colton Dixon do “Never Gone.” I’m so glad I was able to do that on the show. That was
an amazing thing, going to watch the live tour.”

What was your favorite moment on Idol?

“Favorite moment ever on Idol is still, way back in Hollywood week when I was able to do my original song, “You Set Me Free.” There was the audition, and a few
rounds before that ,but I feel like that was the moment that it really started for me. And I was able to show right away, America, who I was as
an artist and a songwriter. That’s when everything changed for me and I was just like ‘Wow. Maybe I really do have a chance at making it far in
American Idol.’ That’s where it all started.”

Have you heard from Jesse J.?

“When I did her song, ‘Who U R’ on the show, she did tweet me. She said ‘so incredibly proud’ or something like that. So that was awesome. She hasn’t in the past 24
hours, but I would LOVE to get in touch with her! That would be amazing!”

The judges seemed to say on Wednesday, that Candice would be a shoo in for the final. Did you feel you were
competing with Kree for that second spot?

“Yeah. Candice killed it. She was amazing. I knew that she was going to be in the finale, obviously. I think it was between me and Kree. Which was terrible. She’s
my best friend in the competition. It just stunk that we had leave each other. I really am so proud of them for making it.”

Do you think choosing not to play the piano on “Sorry Seems to Be The Hardest Word” like Jimmy Iovine
suggested, and criticized you for not doing so, hurt you?

“I don’t think I needed to play piano for it. He’s still said that I was the favorite of that round. It’s kind of confusing. He said I was the favorite of that
round, but then he said, ‘Aw she should have played piano.’ I don’t think it would have made much of a difference. Plus, if I had
played it, I didn’t feel that song well enough. To play it, I probably would have screwed it up on piano. ”

You have sung more church music than anyone in the season. Is there a certain way that she puts church into
her music? And is it different from the way Candice puts church into her music?

“I don’t have the gospel, big powerhouse voice. I think which is what Randy is talking about when he says ‘church.’ I think for
me, it’s less the church sound, and more the meaning. I’ve done Colton Dixon, ‘Never Gone’, I’ve done ‘Love Came Down.’ Those are worship songs.
They’re not in your face, like Jesus songs. They’re subtle. And that’s what I want to do. I don’t wanna shove Jesus down people’s throats.
Through actions, and through meaning and words, being able to show that subtly.”

How much does the history of Salem, Mass. affect your growing up and your church life.

“It doesn’t affect me at all. if anything, I’m so proud of where I’ve come from and I love my parents. They’re the best. And they
are so supportive. They just recently started that church, remix church, this past September. I’m so proud to be a pastor’s kid. And I love them.
I can’t wait to go visit, because I haven’t been there in a long time.”

Angie’s closing remarks:

“ Thank you all, so much. I really am so blessed to be a part of Top 3. It blows my mind. I can’t wait to sing at the finale on
that stage. I can’t wait for the tour, and just to see what happens with my future. I know that this is just the start. This is the launching pad.
Thank you to everyone who supported me and voted for me. It means the world.”

It would seem as if poor old, 12-year-old, American Idol just can’t seem to get out of
its own way this season. For example, Thursday night. In what coulda, shoulda,
woulda been an emotional departure for co-favorite Angie Miller … well, it all
turned into Angie becoming Miss Irrelavent.

Randy Jackson announced earlier in the day that after his trio of 4-year terms he
would not be returning to the show in the fall. Yo Dawg got out before axe fell
on his Alpo.

Rumors continued to swirl as far as the status of the other judges – Keith Urban,
Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey. And word was that Carey will most definitely not
make another encore unless she does it on a concert tour.

Urban and Minaj? They, too, are gone unless the Idol wizards can’t locate anyone fully
capable of replacing them.

Themed weeks are out. And that’s a no-brainer because half of the kids never heard of much of the Beatles body of work and they certainly had a difficult time recalling
the words or even reading them off a screen in front of them.

Nigel Lythgoe, one of the top execs on the show, is rumored to be going. Don’t know
the gentleman, but he comes off as a bit of a know-it-all. Maybe that’s his
problem – he just doesn’t “know it all.”

And the biggest rumor of them all. IF “The X Factor” is cancelled and IF Mr. Cowell is looking for employment and IF the other two agree to it then down the road a ways there is the possibility of reuniting the original judges’ panel of Simon Cowell, Randy
Jackson and Paula Abdul.

And all the while there stands poor Angie, bawling her eyes out and forever placing No. 3 in Season 12. Simply a footnote in Idol history.

We have Kree Harrison and Candice Glover left. Candice won this lost season long ago. It’s a slam-dunk. But then so were Crystal Bowersox, Adam Lambert and David Archuleta.
