On Thursday it was Steven Tyler who announced he wouldn’t be back on the American Idol judging panal, today it’s Jennifer Lopez making a smilar proclamation.

She won’t return this season and don’t be surprised if the third judge – Randy Jackson – is moved off the judging panel and into a mentoring role. That would mean wholesale changes for the judges and it would also mean that Adam Lambert would be a certainty for one of the chairs if AI execs can work out a deal with him.
