Now it comes down to the toughest cut of all – No. 11.

The Top 10 get to go on the Summer Idol Tour, they make some $$$, get the exposure of performing in front of thousands, learn how to perform on a huge stage singing songs in their entirety, etc., etc.

And for No. 11? C ya, thanx for coming.

OK, dim the lights. After Wednesday night’s performances here are some predictions.

Ultimately safe and probably in the final Top 3:

Casey Abrams, Jacob Lusk and James Durbin

Middle of the road and with some superlative performances could move up:

Lauren Alaina, Scotty McCreery, Pia Toscano, Paul McDonald and Naima Adedapo.

Bottom 3 and in deep do-do:

Stefano Langone, Thia Megia and Haley Rainhart.

Now, let’s break down those Bottom 3:

Stefano: Has had a roller-coaster ride on the show and last night was a low. The tweens will save him and his pasta-making mom tonight.

Thia: She just can’t get out of the mold of a superlative lounge singer although she has an incredible voice. Will the Asian population get out the vote for her as the Arkansas population did for a certain Mr. Allen a couple of years ago? Too bad if they don’t.

Haley: Her raspy voice is unique, her personality a little quirky and she plays the “sexy” card to the hilt. But does that play in middle voting America? Naw. And her singing is more often than not slightly off in spots and that doesn’t help either.

Of those three the one with the least chance of ever selling a record is probably Haley. Hunch is that she will go tonight.
