Does anyone agree with this assessement? After starting out with a strong debut on the show (any maybe that was enhanced with some creative editing), Steven Tyler has dissolved into mush.

He seems to be more than afraid to tell the truth when a contestant really reeks, his comments aren’t pithy or on the mark more often than not and he just seems to be tired of the whole process. The further this season’s show moves along, the longer the shadow of Mr. Cowell protrudes over the proceedings. When the show goes entirely live (last night was taped), the wager here is that he will be even more vanilla.

And the talent level this season…? That too seems to be diminishing as the show rolls along. Right now it’s Casey and Scottie and everybody else.
