Like her or not, she’s coming back!
Fox announced today that Kara DioGuardi, the new “4th” judge on AI a year ago, will be back for a second season in year No. 9.
Randy is also signed for another season, Simon and Paula, on the other hand, are still in negotiations.
Kara had a couple of “big” moments last season. One came as she gushed (at least near the end) over the performances of Adam Lambert; the other was when she tried to one-up Bikini Girl by bursting into song and out of her dress during the season finale.
Are you glad she’s back?
Following is the Associated Press story on the signing:

NEW YORK — The Fox network says Kara DioGuardi (KA’-ruh dee-oh-GWAHR’-dee) will be back for her second round as a judge on “American Idol.”
The Grammy-nominated songwriter joined original panelists Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul last season.
Her arrival raised questions about the future of Abdul on the hit talent competition. Abdul is still negotiating for next year.
“American Idol” starts its ninth season in January.
