Just in case you have your musical and your sports wires crossed … fear not.
Yes, if you watched either the Southeastern Conference or the Atlantic Coast Conference basketball tournaments this past week, that was was David Cook and his band performing “Heroes” behind the video of players becoming tournament, well, heroes.
“That song has taken off, it has a whole new life. It’s become a bit of an anthem, and that’s something I never expected,” Cook said.
Sunday they pick the teams for the NCAA Tournament and we’ll see where Cook’s song fits into that bracket. It’ll never replace the song they use at the Final Four, but it’ll do fine, thank you, up to that point.
